LESSON 3: Friday Motivation

You are taking action this week! To support you, let’s take a moment to dig a little deeper into the process of managing your stressors.

Small Steps Everyday

Why choose just ONE of the stressors to focus on, for starters?

It’s easy to get overwhelmed and potentially experience more stress when reviewing your list. Selecting ONE stressor allows you to focus and take action.

Is it truly out of my control?

Challenge yourself here for a moment. Sometimes, what you believe is outside of your control (i.e., a person, place, or thing you have no control over) may bring up feelings of helplessness or frustration.

It’s time to take your power back!

Gently consider your behavior toward the stressor. Your reaction or how you show up at that moment is still in your control — taking ownership of your response empowers you to think more dynamically about a solution.

Important note: Taking ownership does not mean judging yourself negatively. The past is the past. Today, you are taking action to shift your circumstances or perspective. Do it from a place of love for yourself.

If I wanted to, could I problem-solve a plan to lessen or eliminate this stressor?

Providing time and thoughtful effort allows you to consider all your options. Action steps can look like baby steps sometimes. That’s okay! Action over intention wins the battle – take it step-by-step and celebrate yourself along the way.

Acknowledge Your Efforts

Confronting stressors takes more time, fortitude, and bravery. Facing the stressors in your life can be one of the most rewarding experiences in crafting a life you do not feel the need to regularly escape.

Always keep the end goal in mind when experiencing challenges in your journey.  You got this!

You are worth it!
