LESSON 6: Forward Progress

You’ve learned various new tools over the past several weeks. I want to gently remind you that learning new skills does not happen overnight.  It often takes unlearning an old way of doing something to practice something new. Repetition will improve the ease and use of each step.

Forward progress is forward progress! No matter the size of steps taken in a healthier direction, you will feel good about your progress. We often set too high of expectations for ourselves and feel defeated quickly if we do not experience the desired results immediately. Fight against that self-sabotaging mindset and keep track of your progress!

This week, we ventured into:

  1. Asking for help when you need it
  2. Saying No to others when it’s time to refuel your reservoir
  3. Distinguishing between Work / Off-Work Modes

Challenge:

Take time to identify your new habit of distinguishing between Work Mode and Off-Work Mode. It can be a moment of intentional self-talk or a more tangible practice of touching something when you leave or enter your workspace or residence. Whatever you choose, make sure it works for you.

Comment below! What will your switch look like when you are in Off-Work Mode?

Remember to Celebrate Your Progress!!

You are worth it!

We encourage comments! This is a safe space to engage with your peers, strengthen relationships and build new ones. Feel free to give and receive support, ask questions, share your challenge results, and generally contribute to the conversation. Just remember, this is a place to give and receive encouragement. Please be respectful and civil in your comments. Most importantly, have fun!  Please enter your Name and Comment below. Thank you.
